New learning areas in the UndiMeS project – teaching with digital media

Last modified date

In the learning area MEDIA DIDACTIC 2 – Teaching and learning with digital media Teachers learn how they can integrate self-created and existing digital media into their lessons in a didactically meaningful way. Finally, they implement what they have learned in a lesson plan and take part in a collegial peer review. In this way, teachers get to know this functional module of OPAL School by using it themselves.

The range of topics covered in the learning area includes:

LEARNING THEORIES, POTENTIAL AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
Media-supported teaching scenarios
ACCESSIBILITY, INDIVIDUALIZATION and PERSONALIZATION
COLLABORATIVE and LMS
interactive, social LEARNING FORMS and PEER LEARNING
COMPETENCE ORIENTATION
COMMUNICATION and FEEDBACK
MODELING and SIMULATION
E-PORTFOLIO and E-ASSESSMENT
TRENDS and current DISCOURSE
EVALUATION of lesson planning

The fourth content block of the undime training addresses the challenges and problems in dealing with digital media for children and young people. In the learning area Media education Teachers therefore learn how they can develop their students’ digital skills.

Thematically, the field is divided into:

MEDIA SOCIALIZATION
KMK COMPETENCE FRAMEWORK and curriculum
RESPONSIBLE and SAFE behavior
BUILDING COMPETENCIES
PROMOTING MEDIA COMPETENCE

A sound competence in action and self-confidence in one's own use of digital media is a basic requirement for teachers to be able to teach their students media-competently and to impart media education themselves. The offers developed in the project first show how digital media can "experience" a general and permanent entry into lesson planning and implementation and provide information on how the classroom of the future can be designed by the teacher themselves. In addition, teachers should be shown the opportunities and benefits of digitizing their own lessons. The aim is for them to be able to make their own decisions with media competence at the end.

In the free training, teachers learn not only the basics of media education but also important application scenarios in the field of media didactics in order to be able to handle digital media independently and teach with media competence.

The learning areas:

Basics | Media didactics 1 | Media didactics 2 | Media education | School development

A certificate of participation can be issued automatically for each learning area provided the final task has been successfully completed.

The training will be carried out as part of the project “UndiMeS – Teaching with digital media in Saxony“ (TU Dresden). As part of their participation, teachers work on the completed learning areas and make an important contribution to the evaluation of the qualification offer.
