Review of the G4C:NGE Multiplier Event in Maribor
On December 2, 2In 2024 the second multiplier event as part of the Game 4 Change project took place in Maribor, Slovenia. The event was organized by the project partner DOBA Business School. The extensive program included a keynote speech by Dr. Martin Ebner from TU Graz on the topic of “How Learning Analytics, Gamification and beyond can contribute to Online Learning”, as well as a panel talk with five experts from the field of gamification and game-based learning. Dr. Maja Pivec (FH Graz), Dr. Martin Ebner (TU Graz), Prof. Dr. Rajiv Vaid Basaiawmoit (Aarhus University), Prof. Dr. Helge Fischer (TU Dresden) and Thomas Kunze (Games Institute Austria) discussed the topic: “How Learning Analytics, Gamification and beyond can contribute to Online Learning in Business education”.
The 40 participants on site and 30 participants online were able to gain many inspiring insights into the experts' current research focuses and the topic of game-based learning in general. The participants came from over 10 different European countries and contributed to an international learning atmosphere in the subsequent workshops. The workshops on various topics such as "Educational Escape Rooms - a promising approach to new ways of learning" or "From Lecture to Adventure: Transforming Education with Games-Elements" offered the participants the opportunity to deal intensively with the topics addressed on the previous day and in the discussion round.
Following the event, another transnational project meeting was held, organized by the project partner DOBA Business School. Here, intensive work on specific project content could be continued on site and the new inputs from the multiplier event could be incorporated directly into the project context.
The next and final Multiplier Event is planned for September 2025 in Dresden and will also serve as the final conference for the Game4Change project, which will conclude at the end of October. We will keep you updated on further information about this event.
